The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine has exposed officials of several companies in tax evasion for UAH 400 million and is checking the involvement of a family member of the son-in-law of Yulia Tymoshenko in the scheme.
This is reported by the press service of the BEB, sources EP in law enforcement agencies.
Companies that BEB accuses of tax evasion were winners of government purchases during 2022 and supplied food for government agencies.
“Also, BEB checks the involvement in the organization and activities of the criminal scheme of family members of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine, the head of one of the factions of the Verkhovna Rada“, – the press service of the department notes. Although BEB does not name the person, according to EP sources, this is the father of the son-in-law of the People’s Deputy Yulia Tymoshenko – Leonid Chechetkin.
According to the investigation, suppliers who are registered and work, in particular, in the Odessa region, bought food for cash. Such operations were reflected in accounting and tax accounting as a purchase from other enterprises, in particular those that have signs of fictitiousness. Such a scheme made it possible to evade paying taxes to the budget for a total amount of almost UAH 400 million.

To ensure compensation for the damage caused to the state, funds in the amount of more than UAH 800 million, which are on the accounts of supplier companies, have been seized.
It is noted that BEB detectives conducted 20 searches and inspections at the place of actual work of firms and at the place of residence of their officials. The defendants were interrogated, 5 forensic examinations were appointed to confirm the amount of damages.
