In St. Petersburg, a 46-year-old man was detained, suspected of attacking the honored worker of arts of the RSFSR, 88-year-old Alexander Kolker.
This was announced on Monday, February 21, to Lente.ru by Sergey Kapitonov, senior assistant to the Main Investigative Committee of the Russian Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg.
A case was opened against the suspect under article 105 (“Attempted murder”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. At the moment, the issue of his arrest is being decided.
According to investigators, the incident occurred on February 20 at the entrance of one of the houses on the Black River. The attacker followed the victim into the elevator car, hit the pensioner with a knife and tried to strangle him. Despite being injured, Kolker managed to call for help on his own. He refused hospitalization.
Police officers immediately organized a complex of operational-search activities. The man was found in one of the city’s hostels in hot pursuit.
