The information became public after Nazarbayeva had disagreements with her financial advisers. In 2006, she set up a foundation in Liechtenstein and entrusted her advisors with $150 million. Nazarbayeva then discovered that they had misappropriated her money. Aliya Nazarbayeva filed a lawsuit against the advisers, but in the end this dispute was resolved differently – with the help of a private agreement.

As a result, it turned out that the daughter of the former President of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva and her son Nurali Aliyev owned the houses. However, formally the houses are owned by Farmont Baker Street Limited, owned by an enterprise from the UAE.
Lawyers for the Nazarbayev family did not respond to questions about the land and houses on Baker Street in London. At the same time, it was about real estate worth about 140 million pounds. At the same time, journalists said that Dariga Nazarbayeva owns a business empire worth $600 million.
