Elton John tests positive for coronavirus and cancels concerts
British singer Elton John has canceled two US shows scheduled as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road farewell tour.
According to the publication Metro, the 74-year-old musician said that he had contracted covid. According to him, the disease proceeds in a mild form, since he is fully vaccinated, including a booster shot.
“Rescheduling gigs is always a big disappointment and I apologize to anyone that was inconvenienced, but I want to keep myself and my team safe,” John said.
Sir Elton, who intends to leave the stage, began his tour in 2018. However, he was forced to cut it short due to the pandemic in March 2020. He was going to continue performing in September last year, but as a result of an unfortunate fall he injured his hip. And, finally, he resumed concerts last week, performing in New Orleans. Then he performed twice in Houston. And was supposed to give concerts in Dallas, which are now postponed indefinitely.
The world tour is expected to end in Europe in July 2023.
