David Batikyan
The Ternovsky District Court of the city of Krivoy Rog returned to the prosecutor’s office the indictment against the so-called “supervisor” of the Kryvyi Rih penitentiary institution No. 3, an Armenian citizen David Batikyan, who is charged with establishing / spreading criminal influence on the territory of the institution (part 2 of article 255-1 of the Criminal Code Ukraine)). The corresponding decision was made on January 19, 2023 by the servant of Themis Andrey Likhodedov, writes Detective-Info.
From its text it follows that despite the positions declared by the state prosecution and the side of Batikyan himself regarding the indisputability in the appointment of criminal proceedings for trial, in the palace of Themis they came to the conclusion that they say “the plot of the accusation, the model of the commission of the crime, that is, the presentation of the actual circumstances of the case, is not detailed, since it does not detail the facts that should, in the opinion of the court, testify to the general circumstances of the criminal offense“.

In particular, Judge Likhodedov referred to the lack of a detailed presentation of the facts that allegedly should have testified to Batikyan’s authority and stable ties in the criminal environment, his acquisition of the status of a subject of criminal influence (the so-called “watcher”), information about the establishment/distribution of criminal influence by the worthy in colonies, as well as organizations on the territory of the institution of gaming katrans and systemic supply of drugs, etc.
Earlier, on the pages of Detective-Info, it was reported that in August 2021, law enforcement officers reported on the suspicion of “dovichnik” Batikyan, whose name was loudly heard on the pages of the Ukrainian media in the late 2000s in the context of the story of the impudent execution of the co-owner of the 4room shopping center by the norms of the anti-thief law . At the beginning of last year, the case of the Armenian was sent to court.
As for the story of the daring execution of Aloyan (where, in addition to the killer Batikyan, the organizer of the crime, Merab Suslov, was also sentenced to life imprisonment), in October 2022, the Kharkiv Human Rights Group reported on the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in the case Suslov and Batikyan v. Ukraine . In the relevant proceedings, the ECtHR found violations in relation to the worthy articles 3 and 6 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in terms of the violation of the right to a fair trial and the prohibition of torture.
Against the background of the announcement of this decision, publications appeared on the pages of the domestic media, where the relatives of the deceased co-owner of the 4room shopping center and his guards accused high-ranking officials of the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice of inaction on the interests of the victims in a resonant story, as well as patronage of Batikyan and Suslov.
