Bonanza Investment and Rustem Umerov: pure corruption
According to one of the telegram channels, a new corruption scandal may flare up in power, writes ORD.
This time around the head of the State Property Fund Rustem Umerov. Due to corruption schemes, on February 16, 2023, Umerov fired the director of the United Mining and Chemical Company Vladislav Itkin, but he refused to abolish the schemes themselves. As a result of the audit, it became known that Itkin built corruption on the logistics of ilmenite (a valuable ore for obtaining titanium and its derivatives (titanium oxide, ferrotitanium and others). Used to produce high-quality paint for military equipment, in particular, warships).
So, on February 3, 2023, Itkin signed an agreement bypassing the tender with Bonanza Investment for 1.5 million euros.
This company is registered in Austria, namely in Vienna, and has never been engaged in logistics. Moreover, in November 2022, the company has a new director – Olga Stepanchenko, a 24-year-old fitness trainer from Odessa. Bonanza overcharged the shipping of ilmenite at $100 per ton, while the market price was $70.
It is important that, according to law enforcement officers, Itkin was in Odessa and Vienna in November (coincidence?).
When law enforcement officers became aware of these schemes, Umerov fired Itkin in order to avoid his persecution. But, he refused to break the openly corrupt agreement with Bonanza. Now law enforcement officers are investigating the possible involvement of Umerov himself in this deal.
Therefore, we expect from NABU and other law enforcement officers the following announcements about searches and sofas with millions of funds and their corrupt owners.
