However, the Presnensky District Court terminated the parental rights of the girl's parents who kept her at the perinatal medical center “Mother and Child” for around six years. Most people have not seen this girl in person, and in reports she is referred to as the letter “C”.
Legally, those involved in the birth of the “literal child” are not allowed to discuss “C” and what happened to her. This includes employees and the founder of the Mother and Child clinic network, Mark Kurtser, who took part in several legal battles concerning “C”. Since her birth, the girl has been at the clinic and cannot leave. The cost of keeping “C” in the ward is about a million rubles a month (including food and medical support), paid for by the biological parents who have now lost their parental rights.
fourth child
“C” is the fourth child in the family, with three brothers born in 2003, 2008, and 2011 respectively. They all live with their mother Tatyana Maksimova and are educated at home. Rumor has it that they are not allowed outside due to allergy concerns. However, these restrictions cannot be compared to the ones the girl Maximova has been subjected to. These restrictions were imposed by the mother herself, who believed her daughter was not a full person. As Maximova’s lawyer Olga Lukmanova explained in 2019, the mother personally calculated the birth to be in the 23rd week, while documents at the perinatal medical center show the girl was born in the 25th-26th week.
A complex operation was necessary for the birth of the girl, who weighed just over a kilogram at the end of March 2014. Despite special procedures, she and her mother were allowed to go home at the beginning of June. However, the stay at home was short-lived, as Maksimova returned her daughter to the clinic a few days later.
The mother's religious beliefs were cited as the reason for the unfavorable treatment of the newborn. She allegedly believed the fate of the child was “in the hands of God’s providence” and called her “an angel of God”, even reserving a place for her in the cemetery. It is extremely difficult to confirm the authenticity of these conversations. The reality is that for almost five years, the perinatal medical center “Mother and Child” was content with the current situation. According to the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Mother and Child Center first contacted the authorities in January 2019, expressing willingness to release the girl to her parents, who, however, were concerned about her health and hesitant to take her home.
This appeal marked the start of a legal battle. In March 2019, the PMC sued the parents, seeking to remove the child from the institution. The parents insisted on providing medical care for their daughter and were ready to pay millions for it.
Weird dad
The father of the newborn, Yuri Zinkin, was willing to pay for everything and became a legend in the Russian financial system for being the first person convicted of money laundering in 2005.
Yuri Zinkin was found guilty of creating one-day firms and transferring money under fake agreements to the accounts of the Latvian bank ABLV. The accusation seemed suspicious, especially considering the small amount of 18 million dollars for which he was imprisoned.
Pirogovsky hectares
Zinkin received a seven-year prison sentence for laundering money, but later in 2008, became the owner of 66% of Agrofirma Pirogovo briefly during the financial crisis.
The State Unitary Enterprise's agricultural production began to decline in the early 2000s, and bankruptcy proceedings started in 2006. The main asset was 2231 hectares of land near Moscow, but the exact area was later found to have shrunk to 1,500 hectares.
The bankruptcy trustee sold thousands of hectares of land to Deimos LLC at a much lower price than the market value, with convicted Yuri Zinkin involved in the story.
Deimos transformed into Agrofirma Pirogovo, and Yuri Zinkin left both the colony and the company before serious proceedings began about how the property of a state enterprise ended up in private hands.
And the Pirogovskaya agrofirm began a wonderful transformation into objects with names like “Pirogovskaya Riviera”. But that is another story. Apparently, it may turn out to be even more scandalous than the very fact of land privatization.
Moreover, according to some reports, Yuri Zinkin is back in the game, and he plays in the team of Sergei Lalakin. There is no official confirmation of this information; you have to trust anonymous sources. But any pressure on Yuri Zinkin now can be a very important argument in a variety of proceedings. In such a situation, deprivation of paternity is a blow more serious than any condemnation or imprisonment.
