The Kolpinsky District Court of St. Petersburg has suspended the status of a media-foreign agent assigned to Andrey Zakharov, a journalist with the BBC Russian Service.
About it says in the material of the publication, Zakharov confirmed the information to Znak.com.
The order to recognize Zakharov as a foreign agent was suspended until the end of the trial on the journalist’s lawsuit against the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
Andrei Zakharov is a St. Petersburg journalist who worked for Fontanka, Proekt (recognized as an undesirable organization in Russia, its employees were declared foreign agents), and now writes for the BBC Russian Service. He was entered into the register as a foreign agent on October 8, 2021, and on January 17, his status was suspended.
