The military court released warrant officer Magomed Oligov, who shot a conscript in the Moscow region, informs Base. Investigators will most likely assign a written undertaking not to leave the ensign, writes the telegram channel.
A case was initiated against the ensign for violating the rules for handling weapons, which negligently resulted in the death of a person (part 2 of article 349 of the Criminal Code). He faces up to 5 years in prison.
The tragedy occurred in military unit No. 51980 in the village of Troitse-Seltso in the urban district of Mytishchi. According to the official version, the murder was accidental.
“The senior warrant officer received weapons and ammunition for him to perform a special task of escorting military cargo. While in the barracks, he fired an accidental shot from a pistol. The bullet hit a nearby corporal who was serving on conscription. The latter died from the wound he received,” investigators say.
As the journalists found out, 25-year-old corporal Vladislav Volkov was slowly gathering in the weapons room, which was noticed by 46-year-old senior warrant officer Magomed Oligov and began to rush the conscript. The 112 Telegram channel reported that a contractor pointed a Makarov service pistol at Volkov “to scare him.” He allegedly jerked the bolt, and a spontaneous shot occurred, because the gun was not on the safety lock. The bullet hit Volkov in the head, he died on the spot. A number of media outlets claim that the ensign “dabbled” with a pistol in front of conscripts.
Magomed Oligov served in the Mytishchi military unit for over 10 years. Colleagues speak positively of him. Corporal Volkov served as a senior coder. He is from Krasnoyarsk. Two years ago, Volkov graduated from the magistracy of the Institute of Ecology and Geography of the Siberian Federal University with a degree in ecology and nature management, wrote several scientific papers, including those on the dynamics of the number of insects in Siberia.
