Individuals and legal entities applied to the court for bankruptcy of Gazeta Novye Izvestiya LLC, which manages the media outlet of the same name.
Apparently, the reason for this requirement was a dispute over the protection of business reputation, which Gazeta Novye Izvestiya and Glagol Media lost. So, the Arbitration Court of the city of Moscow satisfied the claim against the companies. Individuals and legal entities have proven that the article titled “The owners of the Knightsbridge Private Park developer intentionally bankrupt the company and sue deceived creditors” contains false information.
The plaintiffs did not like that in the article the journalists wrote about the connection of Enver Kuzmin and Dmitry Provodin with Andrey Kozlov, allegedly a former “brother”. It is assumed that in the 90s Kozlov worked with organized criminal groups in the Urals. And according to the local databases of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he goes by the nickname “Andrei-Metallurg”. The article also states that Kuzmin, Provodin and Kozlov control Khlebozavod No. 6 LLC and Evrokhim-1, FD JSC. Allegedly, they use offshore to withdraw funds, and various schemes to evade taxes.
The Moscow Arbitration Court awarded the defendants compensation in the amount of 150,000 rubles in favor of each plaintiff. However, they have not received their money so far. It seems that now the plaintiffs are hoping to bankrupt Gazeta Novye Izvestiya LLC. How this story ends, only time will tell. But recently in Russia the number of mass media, especially print media, has been declining. So, in 2020, 44 print media were closed in the regions. And another 40% of the media have cut a tenth of their staff because of the crisis.
