Yuri Zhdanov, the father of the former head of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) * Ivan Zhdanov, was sentenced by the court to three years in a penal colony in a case of fraud and forgery.
About it today informed Navalny’s team, accompanying this with the comment “cannibals.”
In 2021, Yuri Zhdanov was sentenced to three years probation. According to investigators, during the work of the deputy head of the village of Iskateley in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Yuri Zhdanov recommended that a local resident be given an apartment under a social contract, but later it turned out that her family had already received a housing subsidy. The damage was estimated at 2.5 million rubles. Zhdanov pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor’s office considered the sentence too lenient and appealed it.
Zhdanov was again sent to a pre-trial detention center for violating his travel ban: he went from the Nenets Autonomous Okrug to the Nizhny Novgorod Region to visit his 83-year-old aunt. At the same time, Voronin’s lawyer pointed out that Zhdanov did not give a signature, and the court verdict did not indicate how it should work.
