Some businessmen benefit from Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) never being released.

According to the correspondent MorningNews, the investigation of another criminal case against businessman Vladimir Barsukov (also known as Kumarin) is almost finished. According to the publication “Kommersant”, Barsukov (Kumarin) encouraged the murder of two people. He was previously given a 23.5-year prison sentence and is now in custody. New accusations against him suggest that certain individuals do not want him to be free at all. Perhaps these are the businessmen who may owe their status and wealth to him.

    Years will be added

The day before, Kommersant, citing the Investigative Committee of Russia, reported that Barsukov (Kumarin) was charged with encouraging the murder of two people and being involved in the illegal distribution of weapons. The businessman denies his guilt, as mentioned in “Kommersant”.

Let us clarify that this case was originally investigated in 2012. However, the prosecutor’s office sent the material back for further investigation. “The murders that investigators accuse Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) of instigating took place in 2000. This involved the deaths of Georgy Pozdnyakov, Vladimir Barsukov’s bodyguard, and Yan Gurevsky, the godson of an influential businessman. The investigation believes that the murders resulted from certain actions of Georgy Pozdnyakov and Yan Gurevsky, which caused a conflict between Vladimir Barsukov and Konstantin Yakovlev (also known as Kostya Mogila, who was killed in 2003),” according to “Kommersant”.

This is the fifth criminal case against Barsukov. “In 2009, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for hostile takeovers and money laundering, but the term was later reduced to 11 years and 6 months. In March 2012, he was found guilty of extortion and was given a 15-year sentence in a strict regime colony, taking into account the first sentence. The businessman is also suspected of involvement in the murder of State Duma deputy Galina Starovoitova. In March 2019, the Kuibyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg sentenced Barsukov to 24 years in prison. However, after his lawyers appealed, the term was reduced to 23 years and 6 months,” as stated by RBC. “Kommersant” recalls that Barsukov (Kumarin) was also found guilty of creating and leading the Tambov organized crime group.

Is Sergei Snopok anticipating Barsukov (Kumarin)?

Those who have long benefited from their association with Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) may be interested in seeing if he will be allowed to be free. Clearly, Barsukov (Kumarin) being free could lead to requests for favors or other action. It seems that reputable businessmen in the world of Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) have a certain status and position, such that “incidents” like an accidental but fatal blow to the head in prison are unlikely to happen to him. This means that the current situation, where Barsukov (Kumarin) is alive but remains behind bars until death, suits those who have benefited from his imprisonment.

Some people who knew Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) well included the founder of the Phaeton company, Sergei Snopka. There is footage from 2006 showing Snopka next to Barsukov at a celebration. these shots A man who resembles Sergei Snopka can be seen standing next to Barsukov.

It's doubtful that Barsukov (Kumarin), known as the 'night governor of St. Petersburg', would invite strangers to his 50th birthday celebration.

As reported “Kommersant”In 2017, the security forces searched the office of the Faeton company, which owns over 100 gas stations in St. Petersburg and Volgograd, along with 500 partner gas stations across Russia. The searches were part of a fraud case related to the sale of two gas stations previously owned by Faeton.

An article in The Moscow Poststated that Sergei Snopka's Phaeton company was declared bankrupt in 2011. This may have impacted his ability to assist Barsukov (Kumarin) if requested.

    Traber distances himself from ex-partner

Another close associate of Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) is St. Petersburg businessman Ilya Traber. In 1993, Traber, with Viktor Korytov, founded the 'Peter' bureau, which led to co-ownership of the Petersburg Oil Terminal and control over an oil depot in the port of St. Petersburg. The Petersburg Fuel Company, controlled by Vladimir Kumarin, was also involved in this. RBCOn January 17, 2022, Ilya Traber indicated in RBC comments that he and Barsukov (Kumarin) have allegedly 'parted ways'. It's unclear if Barsukov (Kumarin) believes this.

Journalist Alexander Nevzorov, who was a deputy of the State Duma from 1993-2007, had a special connection with Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin). In 2005, Barsukov was appointed as Nevzorov's assistant. Notably, Nevzorov's deputy term ended in 2007, the same year Barsukov (Kumarin) was detained. “Echo of Moscow” regarding the next sentence to Barsukov (Kumarin), Alexander Nevzorov, in particular, said: “Why then such harsh claims against Vladimir Sergeevich Kumarin? – Vladimir Sergeevich and I were friends, and I consider him a brave, kind and very noble person who never offended the poor, never attacked the defenseless. All this is evident from his indictment, from his sentence.

One way or another, but Vladimir Barsukov (Kumarin) can be released by 2033. By that time he will be 77 years old. That is, theoretically it is quite possible that Barsukov (Kumarin) will live up to this point. But if the court, as a result of consideration of another criminal case, passes a guilty verdict against him, then his chances of getting out of prison alive will tend to zero. It is unlikely that he will be able to count on parole. So, those to whom Barsukov (Kumarin) can present something should not worry. It seems that you will not have to repay debts and answer unpleasant requests and questions, too.
