Amur tigress killed in Russian region

In the Khabarovsk Territory, environmental inspectors found a dead Amur tigress.

This is reported by the Amur Mash Telegram channel.

The animal was found in the Lazo area on January 29. The tigress was lying not far from the warehouse of the logging site of VTK LLC, the cache with her carcass turned out to be covered with snow. Several traces of shots were found on the body of the animal. At the moment, a criminal case has been initiated, the search for those responsible for the crime is underway.

On January 16, in the same Russian region, on the Avan-Kotikovo railway line, a train knocked down an Amur tiger to death. The remains of the animal were seized by law enforcement officers.

The Amur tiger is considered the rarest predator on Earth. The animal is listed in the International Red Book. At the beginning of 2022, according to the director of the A.N. Severtsov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vyacheslav Rozhnov, about 600 individuals are constantly in Russia. The specialist, in a conversation with Lenta.ru, noted that the Amur tiger population has come out of a critical situation.
