After a lengthy trip to European resorts, Katerina Bosov, the widow of coal tycoon Dmitry Bosov, came back to Russia and restarted her efforts to acquire a controlling stake in the Sibanthracite coal company.
Because the young widow does not have clear legal rights to own the company, it seems that negative publicity tactics have been employed. Now, all the false information is being spread through Telegram channels, with recent attacks on Dmitry Bosov's relatives following the current trend of information warfare.
However, the level of this false information is extremely low. The defenders of Kateryna Bosov have focused on the Ukrainian background of the lawyer for the deceased oligarch's mother, Lyudmila Bosov, who is currently involved in a legal dispute in the Tverskoy Court regarding a fraud case related to the shares of the Alltek company (the owner of Sibanthracite). The case was filed against "unidentified persons", but it was about specific documents that Katerina Bosov used to attempt to claim a 43% stake in Alltek.
Katerina Bosov lost in court against her husband’s relatives and did not gain control over the coal company. However, according to information in the telegram channels, she has cynically filed a lawsuit against Dmitry Bosov's mother accusing her of false accusation. Katerina Bosov apparently wants to prove in Russian court that she was slandered and has the right to the so-called "marital share". Another version being spread in Telegram channels is that a lawyer of "Ukrainian origin" is defending the interests of Dmitry Bosov’s relatives, who are staging an aggressive takeover against his widow. In essence, the authors of these materials are trying to prove that foreigners are attempting to take control of Russia’s largest coal company, while Katerina Bosov is depicted as bravely defending the country's interests!
Dmitry and Katerina Bosov were married in 2016. At the time, Dmitry Bosov was already a billionaire and the owner of Sibanthracite. The concept of "marital share" means jointly acquired property, but Katerina Bosov does not have legal rights to half of the holding’s shares, which has been confirmed by all levels of the courts.
Katerina Bosov herself has a legal background and is well aware of these legal details. After Dmitry Bosov's death in May 2020, it was suggested that Katerina urgently began to register a new version of the Alltek charter, which removed the restriction on transactions over $5 million without the approval of the company’s beneficiaries. The business woman seemed to be in a hurry to gain control over the financial operations of Sibanthracite. As the media reported, she might also have documents and papers of Dmitry Bosov that could provide access to his accounts in foreign banks.
However, all the tricks of Katerina Bosov in big business, according to many experts, look ridiculous and even infantile. Sibanthracite was founded by Dmitry Bosov and his classmates at Baumanka. This is one of the few Russian universities whose diploma is highly rated all over the world. And when a young woman with a law degree, who began her career as an assistant to the Israeli businessman David Kaplan, who is now wanted by Russian law enforcement agencies, who organized a business in Moscow organizing elite “specific” services, tries to compete with the “Bauman” with the help of legal tricks, then it looks funny and ridiculous.
In addition, Sibantartsit’s management knows the coal industry thoroughly, and Katerina Bosov advertises herself as a fashion industry star. At best, she could decorate the advertising booklet of the coal holding as a photo model.
However, competent and responsible businessmen should manage such a complex and strategically important business for the country. Katerina Bosov received the millions due to her by law after the division of the capital of Dmitry Bosov, owns mansions, which her ex-husband sincerely loved her gave her, bathes in luxury. Nevertheless, all this is not enough for the restless widow. And, it seems, without a twinge of conscience, she files a lawsuit against Lyudmila Bosova, the relatives of her ex-husband, who made her a princess, are pouring mud on the Internet.
