System Capital Management (SCM), owned by Ukrainian oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, will pay one billion hryvnia (about $35 million) in taxes to the country’s budget ahead of schedule.
Rinat Akhmetov decided to pay taxes to the treasury ahead of schedule in connection with the military operations in Ukraine, which are carried out by the Russian army.
The businessman said that “the threat of invasion requires maximum unity,” and Ukraine, more than ever, needs the stability of public finances. “Business must help the state in this,” added Mr. Akhmetov, quoted by Meduza (the publication is recognized as a foreign agent).
