In Portugal, authorities have launched an investigation into the legality of issuing a national passport to Russian businessman Roman Abramovich.
It is reported by Reuters.
The check will be carried out by the Institute of Registrations and Notaries. According to the Portuguese Ministry of Justice, such an investigation is the usual procedure for receiving information about “any possible violation.”
In December last year, it became known that Abramovich received Portuguese citizenship as a descendant of Sephardi Jews. Note that the Russian billionaire still has Israeli citizenship.
