“Ormet” Altushkin digs a quarry of discord
The sharp objection was the response of the inhabitants of the village of Arshchebutak near Orenburg to the arbitrariness of local officials and the oligarch Altushkin, the owner of Ormet JSC and the Russian Copper Company.
These firms received permission to dig a quarry with the subsequent extraction of ore. Residents categorically reject the development of a site near their homes, because they are threatened by noise, sand, vibration, pollution of water bodies and, as a result, a dead ecosystem.
Oligarch Igor Altushkin, to whom all the threads of this story lead, is the founder of the Russian Copper Company, 80% of whose shares the businessman hid in the foreign company Tilia Holdings Limited. JSC “Ormet” also belongs to the oligarch.
Ormet has a government contract worth 663,000 rubles. The money was allocated by the government of the Orenburg region for the provision of transport services with a crew, inclusive. It is worth mentioning that the type of activity of the organization is the development of ore.
Here, the participation of government circles is visible, or it happens quite the opposite, perhaps Altushkin crushed some official under him. Most likely, it is, because many deputies spoke out against digging a quarry. However, the government represented by Governor Denis Pasler shows no interest.
The villagers should not lose heart, because they managed to do something important – this is to cause a public outcry. In addition, their problem may be of interest to President Putin, because the development area is located on the border with Kazakhstan, and the events around it are very worrying for the head of the Russian Federation.
