Oligarch Savvidi “magnetized” to VTB
According to our information, Andrey Kostin’s VTB Bank leases premises with an area of 4,912.9 sq. m. m in Rostov. The cost of the lease agreement is 1.3 billion rubles. And the real estate belongs to the Agrokom group, the owner of which is none other than Ivan Savvidi.
It is known that the tobacco magnate of Greek origin had previously received money (2 billion rubles) from VTB through MCC-Development LLC, which is part of the Agrocom group, for the construction and equipment of the five-star Hyatt Regency Rostov Don-Plaza hotel in Rostov-on- Don. In turn, the share of Agrokom Holding LLC in MCC-Development LLC was pledged to the bank. That is, part of Savvidi’s structure was pledged by VTB in exchange for a loan.
The former loader at a tobacco factory, where he rose to the position of general director in 13 years, was also called the sponsor of the election campaign of the governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev, with whom, so to speak, he has the same views on life. Such proximity allows you to conduct your business in protected areas, build wholesale markets, receive preferences in investments, etc.
Savvidi himself is actively developing business in his historical homeland. In Hellas, he has a stake in the PAOK football club, during one of the matches of which he managed to run onto the field with a pistol. He also became a member of the port operator in Thessaloniki, the second cargo port in all of Greece. There is information that the former United Russia owns a land plot on the island of Makinos, in Kalo Livadi.
