After footage of torture and execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war flew around the world, The Insider and Bellingcat started looking for the perpetrators. Bellingcat managed to establish that the mockery of a prisoner of war took place on the territory of the Privolye sanatorium in the Luhansk region and that militants from the Akhmat battalion participated in the torture. The Insider talked to the main participant in the torment, a Tuvan named Ochur-Suge Mongush (1993), he tried to deny his involvement, but betrayed himself, confused in his testimony.
On July 28, two videos of torture and execution of a Ukrainian prisoner of war were distributed on pro-Kremlin social networks. The videos were first posted in the Russian Telegram channel “Cargo 200”, dedicated to losses among Ukrainian soldiers, and then were in the Telegram channel “Rosich”, managed by a group of mercenaries-nationalists.
The videos were first welcomed by the channel administrators and most commenting users, until a few hours later they were suddenly abandoned, as “probable fakes” allegedly thrown into pro-Russian channels by Ukrainian agents in order to discredit the Russian army.
The footage shows how soldiers in Russian military uniform torture a bound Ukrainian prisoner of war with a knife, mock him, and then execute him with a shot in the head. Various media have already tried to find the main participant of these torments, who flaunted himself in a cowboy hat, but their attempts to identify were erroneous.

Mongush’s confessions are very important: before talking to him, it was clearly established that the person in the video of “Akhmatovites” from the “Azot” plant is the one who appears in the video with torment, as well as the fact that a person very similar to this tormentor named Mongush fought in “Akh However, Mongush’s confession that the man in a hat in the video from the territory of the Azot plant is him excludes all the last doubts.
