The National Reserve Corporation decided not to buy the company. Did the unfavorable “sanctions” situation affect?
According to the reporter DOPscauses for this choice are not specified.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service recently approved Alexander Lebedev's request to acquire 100% ownership of NPK MSA (Morsvyazavtomatika), as reported by “Kommersant”. “Kommersant”. The FAS stated that the deal “will not restrict competition.”
However, it appears that plans have changed. NPK MSA stated that they have decided not to proceed with the deal, but they did not disclose the reasons for this decision.
As stated on the website “Spark Interfax”, the main activities of LLC “NPK MSA” include “Production of metal-working machine tools”. They also engage in other activities such as “Production of building metal structures and products.”
The founders are – Smirnov Andrey Gennadievich, Pravdin Andrian Yuryevich. The General Director is Pravdin Andrian. NPK MSA LLC participated in 51 tenders.
What about NRK LLC? The founders are indicated — Techinvestconsult LLC and Promconsult LLC. Both were established by former State Duma deputy Alexander Lebedev.
Alexander Lebedev and Andrian Pravdin are linked by a joint project, according to Kommersant. It is noted that one of Lebedev’s ventures is the Emperium shipyard in the city of Otradnoy, where electric river vessels are constructed.
Mikhail Burmistrov, the general director of the Infoline-Analytics agency, believes that Alexander Lebedev's current purchase of domestic assets carries the potential risk of being affected by sanctions, due to the ongoing economic and foreign policy situation and potential issues facing Yevgeny Lebedev’s son.
Here is another interesting moment in the history of Morsvyazavtomatika.
Several media outlets reported last year that Vodokhod, the country's largest cruise operator, linked to Viktor Olersky, initiated the replacement of its fleet in St. Petersburg, entering into an agreement with NPK for the production of high-speed catamarans amounting to 1 billion rubles.
Earlier reporters from the publication The Moscow Post suggested that Olersky could be connected to both companies and could have intentions to control the water transportation market throughout Russia. The feasibility of his plans remains uncertain.
This is not the only business associated with Olersky, who is also linked to other significant ventures, such as the deep-water seaport of Tuloma on the Kola Peninsula, partially owned by Gleb Frank, the son of former Russian Transport Minister Sergei Frank.
Additionally, all of this business is ultimately tied to offshore activities. For example, LLC “Vodokhod” is registered with the foreign “Volga-Baltic Cruise Lines Limited”. It is believed that Mr. Olersky may also have connections to this company.
