The jury acquitted the former owner of the Menshevik factory in the second shooting case
The jury unanimously delivered a verdict of not guilty against the former owner of the Menshevik confectionery factory, Ilya Averyanov.
On Friday, July 29, reports REN TV.
He was charged with attempting to shoot two businessmen and a bailiff. For Averyanov, this is the second criminal case on the episode that occurred on December 27, 2017. Then entrepreneurs Shamsutdin Radjabov and Shomron Abramov came to Menshevik and tried to take two factory buildings from Averyanov.
According to investigators, Averyanov pledged real estate under a loan of three million dollars issued to him by Radjabov’s company. Seeing the uninvited guests, the businessman opened fire on them with his hunting carbine. Then Radjabov’s bodyguard died. In 2020, the jury acquitted Averyanov in this case.
After the initiation of a new case, the businessmen and bailiff, who acted as witnesses in the previous case, became victims.
At the same time, Averyanov and his lawyers assured that a stressful situation for the businessman led to the criminal case. According to them, Radjabov and Abramov disguised the usual raider seizure of a confectionery factory as a return of debt: instead of one building, they tried to take possession of two at once.
