Deputy Chairman of the Regulator Mikhail Alekseev, who worked in the financial institution for a year and a half, resigned from the Central Bank. In June, Sergei Belov will take his place. Alekseev plans to continue his career outside the Bank of Russia.
Alekseev began his career as a financier in 1989. Then he participated in the USSR Ministry of Finance in promoting economic reforms, creating a tax system, a stock market, developing a program for financial recovery and stabilizing money circulation.
In 1992, he began working as a manager in Russian banks, for 12 years he was the chairman of the board of UniCredit Bank JSC. Since October 2020, Mikhail Alekseev assumed the position of Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia, supervised the work of the cash circulation department, the activities of the Rosinkas association. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UK FKBS. This year, the financier was included in the US sanctions list.
His successor, Belov, has been with Bank Rossiya since 2014. In 2016, he headed the Far Eastern Main Directorate of the Central Bank, and in August last year, he took up the position of head of the department of field institutions of the Bank of Russia.
