During a weekly briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia is ready to negotiate with Ukraine, taking into account current realities, writes TASS.
“We are still open to negotiations. We have never abandoned them, we are ready to conduct them, of course, taking into account the realities that are developing at the moment, ”Zakharova explained.
This is how Zakharova commented on statements made earlier from Berlin “about the Russian side’s lack of readiness for negotiations with Kyiv, which demonstrates this readiness.”
Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin, during the signing ceremony of the treaties on the accession of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to Russia, called on Kyiv to sit down at the negotiating table, stressing that the choice of the people would not be discussed. “We are ready for this. But we will not discuss the choice of peoples in Lugansk, Zaporozhye, Donetsk and Kherson. It’s done. Russia will not betray him,” he said then.
