Rostekhnadzor demands to close the Norilsk Nickel factory, where 3 people died in the collapse
The Yenisei Department of Rostekhnadzor went to court demanding to suspend the work of the factory of Medvezhiy Ruchey LLC, a subsidiary of Norilsk Nickel.
Recall that on February 20, 2021, the gallery of the crushing shop at the processing plant collapsed. As a result, three people were killed and five others were injured. Experts found that the collapse on an area of 1,000 square meters was due to the displacement of the head of the foundation.
The checks showed that the factory did not take measures for the safe operation of the building and structures. Therefore, Rostekhnadzor demands to suspend the operation of a hazardous production facility.
Upon the fact of the collapse, criminal cases were initiated on violation of safety rules during work, which led to deaths, as well as on a deliberately false conclusion of an industrial safety examination.
