Deprive Boyko of the title of Hero of Ukraine is not so simple

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to a petition to deprive Yury Boyko of the title of Hero of Ukraine, deputy from the Opposition Platform For Life party banned in Ukraine, in which he indicated that, in accordance with under the current legislation, he currently has no grounds for such a decision.
The president's response to the petition states that the title of Hero can be deprived only in the case of conviction of the recipient for a serious crime or the application of personal sanctions.

“Materials that meet certain requirements For these reasons for me, as the head of state, to make a legal decision on the issue raised in the petition, the Office of the President of Ukraine did not receive any. At the same time, I turned to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal with a request to study the issue raised in the petition, analyze the existence of reasonable grounds for the application of personal restrictive measures against Yury Boyko and inform about the results,” Zelensky's response says.
Recall that in September, Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Gaidai initiated a petition to deprive Boyko of his rank. Two months later, the petition gathered 25,000 votes and was submitted for consideration by the president.
