How the oligarchs used “Putin, come! You are our savior”
Today there is joy in our parliament — the Rada has adopted all the laws that the European Commission recommended for Kyiv to approve. This emotion is premature for at least two reasons, writes Ukrrudprom. How the oligarchs supported him.
Firstly, Ukraine made a clear commitment to the EU to adopt an anti-oligarchic law. But over the past six months, the authorities have clearly turned on the back on this issue under the pretext that this document is being studied by the Venice Commission. And then, like, we’ll break firewood.
Secondly, in addition to the laws recommended by the European Commission, the Rada adopted many other interesting things that our eyes have never seen better. And that will definitely make it difficult for us to join the European Union in the future. Starting from yesterday's draft law 5655 in the interests of the construction mafia, and ending with the law “On Media” adopted again on December 13 under the sly. And here, in both cases, for some reason, no one began to wait for the conclusions of the Venice Commission. And all the objections of local experts were simply sent to the firebox.
Unfortunately, we are not builders, so we will talk about our own, about journalistic. We will not discuss in detail the absolutely bastard, self-contradictory text “On Media”. This has already been done beautifully on 33 pages by the Main Scientific and Expert Directorate of the Rada, which clearly substantiated the unconstitutionality of this piece of intellectual shit.
We will focus on Cui bono?, Cui prodest? And in order not to draw intrigue for one place, we are forced to state that the main beneficiaries here are by no means the authorities, which already have enough leverage to bring the wrong media into shape, starting from the inclusion of their owners and managers in the sanctions lists and ending with the imposition of a ban on Internet providers to specific bad web addresses.
When Yevheniya Kravchuk, who is not just a people’s deputy from the presidential faction, but also heads the press office of the Servant of the People, defending the bastard law “On Media”, begins to express her wet fantasies about how some Ukrainian online media will come out with headline “Putin, come! You are our savior,” the hand does not reach for the gun. No.
We just go to Wikipedia and find that quite recently, Ms. Kravchuk was engaged in PR services for such a Sergey Tigipko. Remember the non-oligarch who, under Yanukovych, served as a political spoiler with his “Strong Ukraine”? And in February 2014, after the execution of the Maidan, did you aim at technical premieres? It was at this moment that Tigipko was PR-served by Evgenia Kravchuk. Apparently, the headline about Putin is just from her extensive portfolio of that period.
How the oligarchs used “Putin, come! You are our savior”
Another fresh and unshaken face of the presidential team, who sincerely engaged in smuggle “On Media”, adviser to the head of the President's Office Mikhail Podolyak, who today controls the information policy of the Presidential Office. Misha will go down in history by no means as the brightest member of the pool of journalists who merrily jumped on the stumps together with Viktor Yanukovych in Mezhyhirya in the summer of 2011 (after all, this is the prerogative of Savik Shuster and Yevgeny Kiselyov). And as the author of a threat addressed to journalists: whoever calls Ivanyushchenko “Yura Enakievsky” will get big problems. We are sure that you still remember this “young oligarch”, who at the beginning of the “tenths” argued with Rinat Akhmetov over the level of influence on the “twice legitimate” one.
And finally, how could we get around the flimsy figure of Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture Igor Kolomoisky, who did so much to pass the bill “On Media” in the first reading. The former head of the Pluses will enter eternity thanks to Beni's sparkling aphorisms addressed to his key media manager.
As a result, all these Kravchuks, Podolians, Tkachenkos did everything in their power to pass a law that was completely unnecessary for the Ukrainian state. But oh, how necessary Tigipko, Ivanyushchenko, Kolomoisky as a tool to slow down the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU. After all, as big businessmen of the “half world”, these gentlemen are interested in continuing to fish in troubled waters for as long as possible, not obeying the rigid framework of the Brussels bureaucracy.
Obviously, with the Law on Media, our country is not needed in the EU. We are already perceived there as a very problematic candidate. And thanks to such a normative act, which regulates freedom of speech, which is fundamental for modern Western democracies, the fuzzy suspicions of skeptics turn into quite clear evidence. Ukraine is not ready.
Well, for us, the adoption of “On Media” has become unequivocal evidence that rumors about the fall of the influence of the oligarchy in Ukraine turned out to be premature. The branched (albeit poorly conspiratorial) agents continue to work for the old masters and successfully do their miserable work. It's too early to write off these freaks.
