The Tagansky Court of Moscow issued a verdict in a criminal case against former directors of departments of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, accused of misusing 1.7 billion rubles in the purchase of Be-200 amphibious aircraft.

Defendants Rais Akhmadeev and Alexander Tomashov were found guilty of committing a crime under Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Abuse of power”). They were sentenced to a fine of 250 and 200 thousand rubles, respectively.
The prosecutor during the debate of the parties asked to sentence the defendants in the case to three years of probation each. The defendants pleaded not guilty, stating that the funds were spent in a targeted manner in accordance with the collegial decisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. clarifies TASS.
