Border guards ordered four Land Cruiser Prado SUVs for 2 million each
Separate commandant's office for protection and support of the State Border Service of Ukraine (military unit of 1498) ordered on November 10 without bidding off-road vehicles for ViDi Avtostrada for UAH 8.38 million. This is reported in the Prozorro system, Our Money writes.
This year, four special-purpose Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2.8 D-4D, 6 A/T, Base cars with a built-in Motorola DM 4401E radio station are to be delivered. SUVs in the Base configuration have a 2.8-liter D-4D diesel engine and an automatic transmission. The contract has not been made public, so the details and prices per piece are not known. If you divide the cost of the contract by the quantity, you get UAH 2.09 million, or $50,000 per unit.
There is no price for the Base package on the seller's website. In 2018, the AUTO-Consulting website wrote about the presentation of a simplified Base package especially for farmers without a monitor, cruise control, rear view camera, etc. for $30 thousand.
Other configurations with such an engine are now sold at prices of UAH 1.77-2.58 million for an existing car or UAH 1.92-2.79 million for a car this year on order.
As for the radio station, the Motorola DM4401E model (UHF or VHF) costs 23-42 thousand UAH.
