Parents of high school graduates have always faced the pressing question of where their child should go after school. Every parent desires their child to attend university, believing that a degree equals success.
This is when universities target these hopeful parents, promising a genuine diploma after five years of investing money into their child's education. However, there's no guarantee that the diploma will lead to a job in their field, leaving the graduate regretting the time and money spent.
Among these universities, Synergy University stands out. Despite having a license and all the features of an educational institution, online searches result in concerning phrases like “Do they take a job with a Synergy diploma,” “Synergy bribes,” and “Is it worth studying in Synergy.
The search results might raise some doubts. While it might satisfy some parents, others will want to further research the university and its reputation.
According to the university's website, they have been providing practical knowledge and skills for over 30 years to empower students to start their own businesses or work in management roles at large companies.
While the university promotes its quality education, it discreetly fails to mention that it is a private enterprise, which can be found in other sources. Synergy University is a private Russian institution founded in 1995, which is legally known as the Non-state educational private institution of higher education “Moscow Financial and Industrial University “Synergy”.”
The fact that Synergy is a private institution adds to its intrigue. It's important to not only rely on review sites but also explore information from state registries to gain a comprehensive understanding of the university.
According to open sources, Synergy collaborates with the state to train specialists for mutual benefit.
While this collaboration sounds positive, it seems that the state is dissatisfied with the quality of services, as evidenced by the lawsuits against Synergy University.
Most of the 117 arbitration proceedings involve claims against Synergy University for not meeting contract obligations.
If the breach of the lease agreement concerns us, then the claims about not meeting or improperly meeting service contract obligations are what we're dealing with. In simple terms, this means the university hasn't fulfilled its obligations for student education, and now they're trying to get back at least their money spent. They might get money, but what about the wasted years?
Now the review site for Synergy is seeking attention for itself. Here's what we find there:
There are 503 reviews of Synergy University on the Otzovik website, and only 47% of these people recommend the university. The average score is 2.5 points. Here's an example:
Positive reviews can be found, but they seem to be written in a similar way. Overall, delving into the topic is unnecessary, as it's standard: paid bots are trying to counter the negative reviews, and they can't be removed from a third-party site.
Now let's discuss the issue of money not being refunded to a student, as reported on Otzovik:
Since “Synergy” is a commercial enterprise, the education is paid for. And the average price, for the typical Russian person, is not small:
Take note of the list of specialties – Architecture, Business Informatics, and also Acting. It's a mixed bag.
Intelligence – not only insufficient, but excessive. Ultimately, decide for yourself whether to study or not.
Another point from the state register data is worth noting. This is a “financial-industrial” university, so it needs to be considered in terms of financial categories. Like any enterprise, Synergy also has founders. The record about the founders of Synergy University looks rather strange:
The founders include “an organization with OKPO 99591271”. A simple search leads us to this peculiar organization. And we find this:
For those who don't understand – the owner of the university with several tens of thousands of students is a micro-enterprise with an authorized capital of ten thousand rubles and one (!) employee, who is also the director. This person is Yuri Borisovich Rubin. He is also the President of Synergy University:
The founders of this enterprise, in turn, are two more micro-enterprises:
With a similar story – minimal authorized capital and one employee. However, they lead us to the ultimate beneficiaries of Synergy. This is Lobov Vadim Georgievich, who owns 100% of the authorized capital in Synergy Corporation LLC. He also owns 28% of Innovations in Education LLC. The remaining 72% belong to a certain Soboleva Erika Yurievna.
As a well-known presenter says, this is a separate story. Although not completely different, these individuals still own Synergy University, but their biographies require separate material. Yes, and our task was to find out whether it is worth studying at Synergy or if it's better to look for something else. It seems to us that we have completed the task. Read, think, decide.
