The press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia informed the Moscow City News Agency about this.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has finished the investigation of a criminal case against 18 members of the criminal group led by Oleg Medvedev (also known as Shishkanov). This group includes Eduard Kharkov, Dmitry Gusev, Yuri Ofitserov, Dmitry Baryshnikov, Dmitry Khlamkin, and others. They are accused of various serious crimes, such as banditry, murder, extortion, bodily harm, illegal possession of firearms, participation in a criminal group, and more. This information was provided by the press service.
Investigators believe that Medvedev and his followers murdered Tatyana Sidorova, the general director of CJSC Plemzavod Ramenskoye, a local government deputy, and three of her family members who disappeared in 2012. The Investigative Committee found evidence of the forcible capture and likely murder of the victims during the inspection of their house. It was also discovered that after the deputy's disappearance, large land plots of the breeding farm were given to a Ramenskoye resident connected to Medvedev.
Medvedev was detained with the help of police and the FSB of Russia. With the assistance of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB, other defendants in the case were apprehended in various regions. The bodies of the missing Sidorova and her family members were located through extensive search efforts.
The investigation revealed that members of Medvedev's organized crime group extorted money from entrepreneurs in Ramensky, eliminated competitors in the natural resources industry, attacked individuals who refused to comply with their criminal demands, and set fire to their property to finance the group.
The case has been referred to the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to determine jurisdiction. The investigation into the remaining accomplices of Medvedev, who fled abroad, is ongoing, as stated by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
