The Board of Directors of Pobeda Airlines was categorically against the approval of Andrey Yurikov, acting interim director, as CEO.
According to unconfirmed information, it is planned to replace him with the former head of the Red Wings airline, Yevgeny Klyucharev, who left this post on July 12. According to experts, this decision was made under the influence of the management of Rostec, which is a shareholder of Red Wings.
Previously, Klyucharev was the initiator of the transfer of most of the company’s fleet from the Zhukovsky airport owned by the state corporation to Sheremetyevo Airport, which is one of the shareholders of the Biblio-Globus tour operator. With the co-founder of the tour operator Yulia Tugolukova, he maintains long-standing business ties. This is confirmed by the fact that Klyucharev reduced the rates for charter flights for this company. This was one of the reasons for the fall in the financial performance of Red Wings, as a result of which it ended the past year with a loss of 1.9 million rubles. Last week, the vacant post of General Director of the airline “Red Wings” was taken by the ex-director of the airport “Zhukovsky” Yevgeny Solodilin.
In addition to Tugolukova, Klyucharev’s candidacy is being promoted by Sergey Aleksandrovsky, who recently became the general director of PJSC Aeroflot, which is the sole shareholder of Pobeda. With the filing of the latter, Biblio-Globus got the opportunity to buy seats on Aeroflot flights on international routes and routes within the country. In addition, the tour operator was provided with a separate flight to Antalya. While still the head of the Rossiya airline, Aleksandrovsky provided Biblio-Globus with additional preferences, making it a strategic partner of the air carrier.
According to publicly available information, Tugolukova and Klyucharyov have close ties to the powerful oligarch Arkady Rotenberg, who partially controls Sheremetyevo Airport. Earlier, the billionaire tried to become one of the owners of Aeroflot.
It is known that in 2016, Rottenberg negotiated with the government to acquire a large stake in the company, but they were unsuccessful. The state was then not ready to transfer the air carrier to private hands. Now the billionaire has every chance of gaining control of the company by betting on Klyucharev. With its help, top managers affiliated with Rottenberg can start buying Pobeda shares with a known result.
