Universal Trading LLC, the former owner of the Matrix supermarket chain Timur Gizatullin, may be declared bankrupt
Bankruptcy filed in court OOO “Universal Trading”. This company was controlled by Timur Gizatullin, the former owner of the Matrix supermarket chain. “Universal Trading” belongs to JSC “Holding Matrix”. The company is in bankruptcy.
Earlier, the Arbitration Court of the Republic of Bashkortostan, as part of the bankruptcy of Megapolis Investment and Construction Company LLC, brought Timur Gizatullin to subsidiary liability in the amount of more than 216 million rubles. And the Trust Bank demands that Gizatullin be brought to subsidiary liability in the amount of more than 1 billion rubles as part of the bankruptcy of Holding Matrix.
Suspicious transactions and inflated salaries
The Universal Trading company successfully developed Matrix supermarkets in Moscow, Bashkiria and Samara. Most of them were located in Ufa. But in 2018, Binbank filed for bankruptcy of the company. This bank pledged real estate leased for chain stores. Then the parties managed to conclude a settlement agreement. The retailer undertook to repay the debt in the amount of 350 million rubles by February 2022. Despite this, at the beginning of 2020, Universal Trading introduced an observation procedure at the request of M Supermarket LLC. This company belongs to a relative of Timur Gizatullin Svetlana Antonova. The amount of creditors’ claims against the company amounted to 768 million rubles. At the same time, Absolut Bank became the largest creditor.
The interim manager checked the company and found 80 controversial transactions that caused damage to the company for 860 million rubles. Most of the transactions are related to the lease of premises for the chain’s stores. Universal Trading cooperated with companies associated with Timur Gizatullin. They provided premises at a price higher than the market price.
In addition, it turned out that from 2018 to 2020, Timur Gizatullin earned more than 111 million rubles in the company. His monthly salary ranged from 340 thousand rubles to 10 million. However, the manager came to the conclusion that these transactions could not cause the bankruptcy of the enterprise. But they need to be revised. Gizatullin’s salary did not correspond to the actual accrued, insurance and other mandatory contributions. The meeting of creditors of “Universal Trading” supported the introduction of bankruptcy proceedings. Anatoly Abaev was offered to the place of the bankruptcy trustee.
