The company Gazprom Transportation Nadym shut down the railway because they are building the Northern Latitudinal Railway.
The company Gazprom Transportation Nadym, which is controlled by Gazprom, completely stopped the railway traffic between Nadym and Pangody as part of the reconstruction for the Northern Latitudinal Railway. This also involves closing the cargo stations Nadym and Pravaya Khetta. The decision was made because of the railway construction project, for which Yamaltransstroy LLC has already received a 43 billion ruble contract. The work is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2027.
Due to the reconstruction, Gazprom Transportation Nadym ended their lease agreement with the Yamal Railway Company. Now, goods will be transported by road, causing an expected significant increase in traffic on the Surgut-Salekhard highway. The highway will also be used to transport building materials for the reconstruction. There are rumors that the decision to reconstruct did not consider the climate or the current state of the road between Pangody and Nadym. As a result, the damage to the federal highway will be paid for by taxpayers.
The Department of Transport and Road Facilities of the YNAO does not focus on potential issues. Officials believe that the traffic police will ensure the safety on the Surgut-Salekhard highway. It is unknown who will oversee the reconstruction process. However, special permission will be required for transporting heavy loads on the road. It is important to note that the company responsible for a major state contract has its CEO and main beneficiary as deputy of the Tyumen Regional Duma, Igor Nak.
Gazprom is also drawing public attention in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Previously, the Moment of Truth editorial staff revealed that the state-owned company leased a land plot from the Arkhipov family for the construction of the Novoarzamasskaya compressor station KS-02. However, they stopped paying rent and decided to take the land back. Gazprom employees used administrative resources against people involved in the conflict.
Dmitry Arkhipov was awarded the Order of Courage, and his grandfather, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, was a full holder of the Order of Glory. These individuals served their country, decided to start a business, but are facing obstacles from those representing the state's interests.
