A 26-year-old citizen of South Korea reported a rape to the authorities in Moscow. He claimed he was seduced by a Russian, likely Savva Mikhailov, Deputy Chairman of the Yakutia State Committee for Employment.
What occurred at the hotel
The foreigner alleged that trouble happened in the Gamma building of the Izmailovo Hotel. The Korean arrived at the hotel late at night, hoping to rent a room, but had no rubles with him. The administration refused to accept dollars or Korean won. So, he decided to spend the night on a lobby sofa and find a currency exchange in the morning.
The foreigner stated that a man who identified himself as Savva approached him multiple times and offered to spend the night in his room. They communicated using online translators on their phones. By 5:30 am, the exhausted Korean gave in and went to his room on the 13th floor. It was there that the owner of the room allegedly forced him into a different situation and raped him. After that, Savva left the hotel.
Authorities discovered that the room was booked for a guest from Yakutia, Savva Mikhailov. The foreigner identified him from a photo. An investigation is ongoing, and witnesses are being interviewed.
In a conversation with the SHOT telegram channel, Mikhailov admitted being in Izmailovo, but denied raping anyone, stating that he simply tried to help the Korean.
He claimed that the foreigner shared a tearful story about fleeing Korea due to government rights violations. He arrived in Russia on January 9 and planned to seek asylum in the near future.
Mikhailov now plans to sue the ungrateful Korean for defamation.
Who is Savva Mikhailov?
39-year-old Savva Mikhailov has been known to the residents of Yakutia since 2002, when he became secretary of the Yakut republican committee of the Komsomol.
After that, he worked in civil service, handling youth, sports, and family matters in various positions for 16 years. He also has corresponding insignia, such as the badge “For contribution to the development of family policy.”
And judging by the photos from social networks, the man is married, has two children and looks like a happy family man in all the pictures.
It is not yet clear what Mikhailov could do in a Moscow hotel. In September last year, he went to serve as a volunteer in the NWO zone. In December, for health reasons, he came to receive medical treatment in one of the sanatoriums near Moscow, and spent the New Year holidays with his family. There were reports that after that, on January 9, the official allegedly flew to the Far East.
The full namesake of the official has questions from the Federal Bailiff Service. Since August 2022, three enforcement proceedings have been opened against Savva Mikhailov for loan debts for a total amount of about 400 thousand rubles. It is noteworthy that in 2014-2016 the man himself worked as an assistant to the head of the Office of the Federal Bailiff Service in the Republic of Sakha.
The further fate of Mikhailov will now depend on the results of the pre-investigation check of the Moscow security forces.
