State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Renat Suleymanov said that the Liberal Democratic Party concealed information about the illness of its leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky due to internal struggles in the party.
He named this reason in an interview with Ura.ru.
“Zhirinovsky was one of those who constantly said that he had been vaccinated many times and the LDPR faction was completely vaccinated against covid. As a result, we see that vaccinations do not guarantee [защиты] from infection,” he said.
On February 10, the publication’s sources in the Liberal Democratic Party stated that his family had opposed the publication of the politician’s health data.
The hospitalization of Zhirinovsky with the omicron strain of coronavirus was reported on February 9. According to Kommersant, he hid for two weeks that he had contracted COVID-19 because of fears that information about this would introduce unnecessary doubts among the ranks of vaccination supporters.
