The first deputy head of the LDPR faction in the State Duma, Vasily Vlasov, appealed to the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov with a request to ban the Mash Telegram channel, which announced the death of party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky.

The document states that deliberately false information received huge publicity. At the same time, the Liberal Democratic Party is convinced that Mash distributed it intentionally.
The deputy asked Krasnov to check on this fact and take prosecutorial response measures “up to the initiation of administrative and criminal cases.” In addition, Vlasov suggested considering the possibility of recognizing the said Telegram channel as an undesirable organization in Russia and banning its activities in the country.
Earlier, the press service of the Liberal Democratic Party informed that they were preparing lawsuits against those who spread fake news about the death of the leader of the political force.
On March 25, Mash announced that Zhirinovsky had died. The death of the politician was also confirmed by Senator Alexander Pronyushkin, but later he deleted the corresponding publication from Telegram. In turn, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin denied these reports. According to him, the politician’s condition is serious, he underwent a CT scan and the doctors continue to fight for his life.
