An arrest warrant has been issued for Arman Akharonyan, who is believed to be the head of a gang extorting money from businessmen.
Slovakia has issued an international warrant for the arrest of Arman Akharonyan, a central figure in the Russian-speaking underworld of Central Europe. According to “Czech TV”, a European arrest warrant was issued against Akharonyan on charges of restricting another’s freedom and extortion. He is considered the head of a gang whose victims were businessmen. They extorted money for non-existent debts.
Akharonyan has lived in Prague for the last few years. He was sometimes seen at five different addresses. According to neighbors, he sometimes appeared there, picked up mail. But after the Slovak police started looking for him, he disappeared.
In 2007, he could become a victim of criminal showdowns. Thief in law Andranik Sogoyan (Zap) “ordered” Akharonyan, but the perpetrator made a mistake and killed a completely different person. The murder was supposed to be committed by Magomed Aliyev, but he entrusted the murder to Timur Tretyakov. First, he stabbed another person with a knife, confusing him with the victim. Doctors managed to save the life of the wounded. After 14 days, Tretyakov shot the driver of the Sazka company director, again mistaking him for Arman Akharonyan.
On February 28, 2013, a Prague court sentenced Andranik Sogoyan in absentia to 22 years in prison on charges of murder and extortion. Timur Tretyakov was sentenced by the court to 22 years in prison and is serving his term. The remaining accomplices of the thief in law received terms from 12 to 18 years. In October 2014, Zap was detained in Yerevan by GUUR officers. The Czech Republic issued a European warrant for his arrest, but the Armenian authorities released the thief in law, since local legislation does not allow transferring its citizens to the justice of other states. Later, the Armenian Ministry of Justice also refused to accept the verdict of the Czech court. Now an international arrest warrant has been issued for Andranik Soghoyan.
According to The CrimeRussia, Andranik Sogoyan was nicknamed as a child for his resemblance to one of the first Zaporozhets models. A native of Leninakan, Andranik Sogoyan, born in 1958, was “crowned” in 1994 in Moscow on the recommendation of thief in law Nigal Barseghyan, nicknamed “Nicole”.
