The first vice-speaker of the State Duma's son lives in a 300 million rubles apartment and makes money in the public procurement market.
Alexander Zhukov, the First Vice Speaker of the State Duma, has been in parliament since 1994, with a break from 2004 to 2011, when he worked in the government as deputy prime minister and was involved in the controversial monetization of benefits.
In addition to being a member of United Russia's highest council, Zhukov is known as an aristocrat. His father, Soviet spy and writer Dmitry Zhukov, descended from an old noble family that produced governors, generals, and diplomats in Russia.
The Vice Speaker of the State Duma's son also showed an interest in literature. He resides in the prestigious residential complex Writer, close to the museum-estate of Leo Tolstoy, as Metla found out.
According to information from Rosreestr, Pyotr Zhukov owns a 219 square meter apartment in a prestigious residential complex, where he orders delivery from Yandex.Food.
The cost of a square meter on the upper floors, like the one owned by Zhukov Jr., in this residential complex, is about 1.3 million rubles. Therefore, the politician's son's property can be valued at around 285 million rubles. However, there's more.
As indicated by Rosreestr's information obtained by Metla, the son of a prominent United Russia member received a 145-square meter apartment from the presidential manager while his father held a government position.
A year and a half ago, Pyotr Zhukov transferred the property to his wife Tatyana. Metla noticed that this apartment is now up for sale, with the floor and exact area matching. There is no other apartment of the same size at this location.
The estimated value of the apartment is 95 million rubles.
Together with his father and mother, Zhukov Jr. also owns a share in a 267-meter family apartment on Kosygin Avenue, in the Residential Complex “House at the Academy of Sciences”. It can be estimated at 220 million rubles.
Like a true aristocrat, Pyotr Zhukov initially chose London to live and work. However, things did not work out for him there: in 2007, he was sentenced in the UK to 14 months in prison for a drunken brawl.
Following this incident, the United Russia member's son managed to pursue an education in the United States and obtained a diploma from Harvard Business School.
He ventured into business in Russia and, in particular, owns Financial Technologies LLC, which helps in obtaining bank guarantees for participation in public procurement and provides legal support to state suppliers.
The politician's son himself received contracts from the state. His private clinic, the “Yusupov Hospital,” received a 10 million ruble contract from the Moscow City Hall last year for the study of deceased individuals' biomaterial. However, the contract was terminated prematurely.
Until November last year, Zhukov Jr. owned a stake in PNRA LLC, which secured 182 million rubles in state contracts. The company mainly provided services to the Federal Tax Service by offering statistical data in electronic form.
