Metalloinvest, run by Alisher Usmanov and Andrey Skoch, published a press release promising to “prosecute criminals.”
The holding called the miners of Lebedinsky GOK “criminals”, from whom the company had previously bought the shares of the enterprise. They are sure that their shares were bought far from the market price. Now the minority shareholders of Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant are seeking justice through various authorities.
In response to the press release, the company’s minority shareholders have already written a letter. In it, they notified Metalloinvest that they were not going to make supposedly false accusations of economic crimes in Russia. In addition, the former miners promised to submit all received documents and testimonies of former participants to non-corrupt law enforcement agencies within one week.
The fate of the Lebedinsky GOK was recently written by the former director of the enterprise, Anatoly Kalashnikov, in his book Career at the Quarry. He said that under him the cost of the plant reached 4 billion dollars. Thanks to this, the inhabitants of Gubkin lived well. The company allocated money for the construction of hospitals, churches and schools. According to Kalashnikov, as a result, Governor Sachenko, along with Bidzina Ivanishvili, drew attention to Lebedinsky GOK. And later the enterprise passed to Alisher Usmanov and Andrey Skoch.
