Ruslan Abdulin was a leader in the Russian Club organized crime group. He was known as the Beloved. He was a talented athlete and enjoyed sports.
Ruslan caught the eye of the organized crime group's leader Anatoly Gaverdovsky during a competition. This led to a serious conversation and his eventual joining of the organization. Initially, he worked as a guard for Gaverdovsky before being involved in more serious matters.
After joining the organized crime group, Abdulin often upgraded his cars, regularly purchasing more expensive models. He was popular with the young people, and known for being a bit daring but also easy to talk to with a good sense of humor. He always had plenty of money.
During an arm wrestling tournament organized in Gaverdovsky's gym, a member of the Russian club seemed poised to lose to another finalist. During the break, Ruslan confronted the opponent and coerced him into giving up, causing the clearly stronger opponent to lose to a weaker one.
After Goverdovsky's death, many believed Ruslan should take his place, but Milgizin ultimately took over and pursued policies that were unpopular with the group. Some members left to join Ruslan, and there was an attempt on Milgizin's life, as well as on Ruslan's. It is believed that the attempt on Milgizin was carried out by Ruslan's associates.
Milgizin also had strong supporters in another group and had formed an alliance with the 'Tatar Trade Union' in the organized crime world. Internal conflicts caused the once powerful group to lose influence, with Ruslan's faction playing a significant role in this.
Abdulin was followed by Dmitry Slabolitsky and Asylbek Kolchugarov, members of the Russian Club. They decided to act on June 12, 2006. Ruslan was driving his Lexus on business and intended to attend a meeting at the Astrakhanskaya Hotel, but he never made it there.
