In Irkutsk, 65-year-old Sergei Bugaev, who rented an office to Navalny’s headquarters in 2019*, is being forced to be hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic.
About this himself Bugaev told Sibir.Realii publication**. The decision on his involuntary hospitalization was appointed during the renewal of a driver’s license. Bugaev himself attributes this to support for activists.
According to the pensioner, he was declared insane when he renewed the rights to drive a boat. “At the age of 65, it was not a council of doctors who suddenly announced to me, but the only doctor with a grin said that I, it turns out, is insane. And instead of rights, I was given emergency hospitalization in a psychiatric clinic, ”said Bugaev.
The doctor, the man says, asked him questions like “How much is twice two?”, And in response to the surprised silence she asked: “Why do you think for a long time?” Then the pensioner’s documents were transferred to another office, he himself was asked to sign a paper agreeing to emergency hospitalization. Bugaev refused and left the hospital.
“How serious this can be, our family knows very well. At a time when Navalny’s headquarters had not yet been banned in the country, searches were regularly carried out in my home and office under various pretexts, and both me and my family members were detained. The eldest son was beaten, ”said Bugaev, recalling the former employees of the Irkutsk headquarters of Navalny Sergey Bespalov and Zakhar Sarapulov.
Bespalov left Russia in 2021 due to a criminal case on causing harm to the health of an NOD activist. She approached Bespalov when he was filming a video and began to provoke the oppositionist into a conflict. The man asked her to leave, and soon found out that the activist had filed a police report against him.
