A criminal case has been sent to the Kirovsky District Court of Irkutsk against the former head of the Ministry of Health of the region Natalia Ledyaeva, her son Ilya Belousov and 4 accomplices.
They are accused of fraud and the sale of falsified, unregistered medical devices, the ICR’s regulatory department said. According to investigators, the official lobbied for the conclusion of contracts for the supply of medical masks and respirators to regional hospitals with her son’s companies. However, she allegedly knew that the products were not properly registered. The damage from the crime is estimated at more than 90 million rubles.
Ledyaeva was taken into custody in December 2020. At that time, the damage in the case was estimated at 25 million rubles.
