In Moscow, operatives detained thief in law Lekha Maimysh, who was looking for vodka
Kazakh thief in law Aitkali Maimushev, known in criminal circles as Lekha Maimysh Semipalatinskiy, was detained at the Izmailovo Alfa hotel in Moscow at the moment when he went out to look for vodka in the lobby. On Wednesday, February 2, the news agency (IA) “Prime Crime” reports.
According to the news agency, the thief in law was detained on January 31 during a joint operation by employees of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation (GUUR) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department. During a personal search of 63-year-old Maimushev, the drug methadone was found on him.
According to Maimushev, he flew to Moscow two days ago from Gorny Altai, where he was detained by local law enforcement officers and expelled from the region. Now the criminal authority faces the first real term in Russia.
According to Prime Crime, of the three active Kazakh thieves in law, Maimushev is the eldest. However, he received the title of thieves a year later than Serik Jamanaev (Bashka), who is currently serving a 19-year term in Kazakhstan.
The youngest thief in law of Kazakhstan is considered to be 51-year-old Samarkan Shamyrov, who, having received the title in 2012, has never come to the attention of law enforcement agencies of any state. Meanwhile, according to IA sources, Maimushev’s detention has political overtones: he is considered the patron of 37-year-old criminal authority Arman Dzhumageldiev (Arman Dikiy), who was detained in Kazakhstan for organizing mass riots last January.
