Disclosed the details of the negotiations to extend the grain deal

The parties to the negotiations on the grain deal have not yet discussed the specific terms of its extension, said a source familiar with the negotiations. According to him, various details of the initiative are currently being discussed.

“No, specific terms have not been discussed now, there are various options. Now a very complex process is underway, the discussion of the details of the further work of the mechanism,” he said.

The source clarified that the parties to the discussion are not yet at the stage to talk about the timing of the extension of the deal. He added that first it is necessary to discuss all the possible details of the agreement and eliminate existing differences.

It is noted that the grain deal expires on March 18.

Earlier, Kyiv proposed extending the grain deal for at least a year and including more ports. According to Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Yuriy Vaskov, the country’s authorities also wanted to increase the number of inspection teams in order to reduce the number of ships awaiting inspection.
