Idris Arsamikov, who was detained in Domodedovo without presenting any documents justifying the detention, was taken away in an unknown direction. Human rights activists report that he will be taken to Chechnya, where he is threatened with torture and death.
The lawyer, who arrived at the place of detention, was not allowed to see Idris until the arrival of the “initiators” of the arrest – representatives of the Chechen Republic. According to the SOS Crisis Group project, Khamzayev, the head of the police of the Shelkovsky district, who signed the orientation sheet against him, tortured him with electric current during his arrest in Chechnya in order to force him to confess his homosexuality. Arsamikov was also allowed to write a statement against the Chechen security forces about the torture he suffered, but the lawyer was forbidden to attend despite the warrant: the policeman said he was tired.
Soon the same Chechen security forces arrived. Arsamikov was handed over to them, despite the fact that the operative did not show any documents to the local police and refused to provide the lawyer with information about the status of the detainee. Human rights activists suggest that he will be taken to the police department in the Shelkovsky district of Chechnya, where he has already been tortured.
Arsamikov was detained on the night of February 16, the border guards took him to the basement, but he managed to report that the Chechen security forces had left for him – the police directly told him about this. According to Idris, he is being persecuted for homosexuality, in 2018 he was already kidnapped near Grozny, beaten and tortured with electric current.
