Medvedev announced the increase in the production of Russian tanks

Russia will increase the production of domestic tanks and other military equipment.

This statement was made by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting, the recording of which was published on his Telegram channel on February 9.

“Our enemy begged for planes, missiles, tanks while abroad. What should we do in response? It is clear that in this case it is natural for us to increase the production of various types of weapons and military equipment, including modern tanks,” he concluded. Medvedev stressed that we are talking about the production and modernization of “thousands of tanks.”

Before that, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia visited the Omsk Transport Engineering Plant (Omsktransmash) and got acquainted with the equipment produced under the state defense order.

Earlier, Medvedev said that the Russian defense industry was able to give an adequate response to threats to the country’s security. He also added that the supply of weapons to the army is carried out in accordance with the maximum increased tasks.
