Pushkov commented on Burbock’s statement about confrontation with Russia
Member of the Federation Council Alexei Pushkov in his Telegram channel commented on the statement of the German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock about the confrontation with Russia, stressing that she “said what she wanted to say.”
The senator added that the justifications from the German diplomatic department are not capable of changing anything. He pointed out that Burbock, who announced the opposition of the West against Russia and called for the transfer of more weapons to Ukraine, expressed her real opinion. “That’s exactly what she thinks. And, you can be sure, she is not alone in NATO. But what is on the mind of some is on her tongue,” Pushkov wrote.
Earlier, German Foreign Ministry spokesman Christian Wagner explained that with her statement about “the confrontation of Europe against Russia”, Burbock wanted to emphasize the intentions of the EU, NATO and the G7 countries to act as a united front against “Russian aggression. He also recalled that Germany is not one of the parties to the conflict in Ukraine, regardless of the assistance provided to Kyiv.
