Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on a single allowance for citizens with children and pregnant women.

The law replaces the monthly allowance for women who are registered with a medical organization in the early stages of pregnancy with a “monthly allowance in connection with the birth and upbringing of a child.”
Also, the universal allowance will be paid to citizens of the Russian Federation with children under 17 and in need of social support. If there are several children, the allowance will be paid for each of them. The payment is made to one of the parents, adoptive parents or guardians.
The universal allowance is granted to those in whose family the average per capita monthly income, calculated from the sum of the incomes of all family members for 12 months, does not exceed the per capita subsistence level in the region of residence.
The law comes into force on January 1, 2023.
Recall that Putin announced a single allowance on November 8 at a meeting on supporting families with children. “The registration and receipt of a single allowance should be as clear, simple, and convenient as possible for citizens,” Putin stressed.
The Ministry of Labor specified that the average allowance per child in the country will be 7,000, 10,500, or 14,000 rubles. according to the needs of the family. Payments to needy pregnant women on average in Russia will increase to 15.7 thousand rubles.
