Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov commented on the relationship between the Russian Federation and the United States in the field of security.
Deputy Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Washington now, as in the times of the Caribbean crisis, does not take into account the legitimate concerns of the Russian side in the field of security, they write “News”.
The diplomat said that if we try to draw parallels between the Caribbean crisis and the current aggravation in relations between the two countries, then in both cases we have to talk about the American side’s desire to acquire decisive military-strategic superiority, which is destructive for international security and strategic stability.
He added that the goal of the United States is to ensure the country’s global dominance by any means.
And he believes that such behavior of the United States stems from “the pathological unwillingness of the United States to recognize the right of other states to protect their vital interests.”
In June Sergei Ryabkov had a meeting with US Ambassador to Moscow Sullivan. They discussed some issues on the bilateral agenda, no details were given.
Recall that relations between Russia and the United States have become more complicated due to the situation around Ukraine.
