The Anti-Corruption Court extended the duties of businessmen Kaufman and Borukhovich
The SAPO prosecutor's request to extend the term of the duties imposed on the suspects was considered and granted by the Anti-Corruption Court.
The Anti-Corruption Court extended the deadline for the duties assigned to businessmen Boris Kaufman and Alexander Borukhovich (Granovsky) until March 6. They are suspected by NABU and SAP of creating a criminal organization in Odessa.
Such decisions were made on February 3 by the VAKS, reports “Word and deed“.
As you know, the Anti-Corruption Court concluded businessman Kaufman's detention was replaced with a UAH 129 million alternative. The SAPO prosecutor requested an extension of the duty period, as these funds were deposited and he was released from the pre-trial detention center under certain responsibilities.
“Extend the duration of the obligations imposed by the decision of the investigating judge of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of December 7, 2022 on the suspect (Boris Kaufman – ed.) until March 6, 2023“, the decision says.
The VAKS also extended the term of the duties assigned to Borukhovich until March 6, with similar responsibilities. Unlike Kaufman, he was required to report on each departure from Odessa, indicating the travel route and the time needed to return to his residence, including visits to religious sites.
On December 5, 2022, NABU and SAPO detained businessmen Kaufman and Granovsky. According to the investigation, a new criminal organization appeared in the city of Odessa after NABU detectives and SAPO prosecutors exposed a corruption scheme for illegal disposal of communal property. These businessmen are linked to it.
Kaufman and Borukhovich extended the arrest
This organization gained control over various aspects of the city's economic life, including dealings with developers, budget-funded purchases, public utilities, and business interactions. Evidence obtained by NABU and SAPO during the investigation indicates a systemic bribery process of officials and council deputies.
